Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t have a portfolio, what to do?
To judge your creative and technical skills we need to evaluate some of your work. We don’t expect industry level portfolios. The portfolio should motivate why you are a serious candidate for the program. Please compose a folder of relevant work, references from employers, and drawings on paper or small projects you’ve worked on and submit this to the administration office.

What should be in the portfolio?
A portfolio typically consists of relevant pieces of your latest work. The portfolio should be related to your chosen major (Animation or Programming). QANTM accepts hardcopy (paper based) or digital (CD, DVD) portfolio entries. Online portfolios or portfolios submitted by email can not be accepted.

Is there any finance or study loan available?
QANTM College is a private educational organization, currently no government scholarships or funding can be obtained in the Netherlands. For private loans, please contact your own bank. Due to continuous changes in the educational system, latest updates can be found on our website.

What are the registration deadlines?
QANTM does not have specific deadlines; all registrations are taken on a ‘first come - first served’ basis. A place in the course is guaranteed if the intake procedure has been completed and the registration fee has been paid.

What kind of literature is needed?
QANTM has a library with books relevant to the interactive entertainment industry and production techniques, which are accessible to students. As part of the program a number of books will be handed out to the students. These books can be used as reference material during the program. For students wishing to invest in books, QANTM offers special educational deals.

Do I need any pre-education?
For the certificate course, previous education is not required. The diploma level requires a secondary school diploma, a portfolio of your work and an intake interview or the 3D certificate. The Degree level requires successful completion of the diploma level following the QANTM study path.

What are my chances of finding a job?
The interactive media and games industry is one of the fastest growing markets in Europe. The Netherlands plays an important role in this market. (Currently there are over 70 game related companies in the Netherlands). QANTM College keeps close contact with the game industry, both on an international and national level, to ensure that these companies are aware of our developments, our graduates and to inform our students immediately when job openings are available. QANTM graduates have been very well received by the industry, offering them a wide range of jobs.

Does QANTM College accept foreign students?
We certainly do. Since all our courses and programs are taught in English, many students from abroad study at QANTM College and SAE Institute Amsterdam. Please note that non-EU students will not be granted a student visa based on their QANTM registration. Contact the QANTM administration for details.

How is QANTM College related to SAE Institute?
Since its establishment in 1976, SAE Institute has grown to become the largest international network of colleges providing digital media technology education. QANTM College became a member of the SAE Technology Group in 2004. With over 50 Institutes spread over 4 continents, SAE is the ideal partner to help realize QANTM‘s international growth.
